American Made: The Art of Manufacturing
The Now Device is proud to have recently joined with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra to present American Made: the Art of Manufacturing, a multi-media celebration of American music and manufacturing, choreographed and performed live at the Kuss Auditorium in Springfield Ohio.
The Now Device collected and shot video at over 25 local and regional manufacturing facilities and used this material to create a unique, live visual experience. The samples below are selections from performances on November 10 and 11, 2007 in Springfield, Ohio.

'They fully embraced the concept and brought the visual concept into reality. Footage they shot in factories was artistic and compelling to the manufacturers. Their skillful editing and live action work during each performance enhanced the music, the orchestra and the manufacturing message. They were sensitive to including material of local factories and sponsors, and did it without degrading the artistic product.'

'With programs like this, I always worry about the orchestra becoming the handmaiden of the image and actually being overlooked by the audience, but that did not happen. Although the orchestra was supportive of the images, there were numerous moments when the orchestra was justifiably the audience's primary focus.'
