It went great because some people came today to check us out what we have done in the past and today.
So it was wonderful.

Even though two weeks is a short period of time, I hope that you find your Design Studio experience valuable and inspiring! I look forward to your creative work. Thank you to all our participants.
Best wishes,

i had fun. thanks scott, marta, kevin and everyone else included in the program. i had a great time, learned some cool ways to manipulate videos and take amazing pictures, and met some pretty cool peeps. hope to do it next year
thanks a bunch
love Collin
b.t.w. lunch was amazing!!!!!!
well this is the last day. we finished our individual projects and showed a group of people all the work that we had done over the past 2 weeks.
Today was awesome even though its the last day. These past two weeks i have learned a lot about video editing and about art exercises. At first I thought in the back of my mind that this would just be another thing to do but it turned out to be extremely fun. I have finished converting the pictures of the two weeks into a small enough for the website so check them out when they come up. Today we goofed off a bit in tradition of last day events but it ended in a photo shoot with Collin posing for every picture and acting the paparazzi. Thanks for the experience Westcott House and The Now Device.

Hi Guys,
I want to congratulate you - what an amazing job so far! The Westcott House comes alive with you all exploring and intepreting the space and details in your own unique way. Can’t wait till Friday event.
Yesterday we did architectural exercises which ended with building a 3d model of our artwork in cardboard. Today we worked on a dual installation for the Westcott House’s showing of Michael Scott Rozell’s glass art exhibit
Well, it’s 9 0′clock in the morning…. again, and i am here at the studio. I am aware that i have not yet posted anything on here but that does not mean that i have not been having fun too. So far it has been a blast here at the Westcott house, working with computers, meeting really important and interesting people, doing sketches and overall having a good time. Hope I can do it next year.
Hi. Great to have you here!
Today was a pretty day. we went around the house shoting some pics and taking som videos . On top of that we did some painting of the garden.
today we made movies with abstract pictures and movies of springfield. Surprisingly, Springfield has both abstract and ornate architecture. The classical music and effects selected for all of the movies contributed to the abstraction of the photos and movies even when they were completely ornate. This afternoon the four oldies sketched the garden and house while the other two caught up by filming the interior and exterior of the house.

On Monday morning we had a visit from the conductor of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. Peter Stafford Wilson spoke to the students about his musical choices for the upcoming Westcott House Centennial celebration. We were treated to an explanation of the process and reasoning behind the kind of creative decisions that a conductor makes, and listened to Michael Torke’s “Adjustable Wrench” with accompanying analysis/commentary by Peter.
This was a great chance for students to get inside the head if a working creative professional. We thank Peter for letting us have a glimpse of that process.
Students who had some experience reading music followed along over the conductor’s shoulder as we listened:

This morning the conductor of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra came to talk to us about how music relates to architecture and about why he picked the music he did for the September 6th Symphonic show with The Now Device. Later, we tavaled around toun and saw different buildings of Westcotts time. It entertaining yet constructive which cant be said for many educational things.
Today the conductor came to talk about music so I learned about it.
And we walk around Down Town taking pictures of big buildings .
We learned how to present videos using final cut and other video production programs. We captured videos to use in future productions. When we first got to the westcott house we played around and got used to the cameras and the computer programs.Today we walked around the house and shot some video and took a couple of pictures. We used the videos and the pictures to make a sample production using final cut.
most fun:Running around chasing Collin, taking pictures on the high resolution camera, shooting video, and designing video clips on the computer.
Hi I am having fun at the Westcott House
